Job Description

VIKING PROJECTS LTD IS RAMPING UP FOR A GREAT SEASON! JOIN OUR TEAM OF PIPELINE PROFESSIONALS!WE ARE LOOKING FOR EXPERIENCED LABOURERS- ALL LEVELS WELCOME TO APPLY!Labourers are responsible for general labour duties as assigned by their supervisors.Main Functions:

  • Load and unload transport construction materials
  • Provide manual labour assistance on various tasks and assignments
  • Perform general construction activities, as required
  • Assist heavy equipment operators, foreman, and supervisors
  • Assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction
  • Assist in initial set up and clean up of sites
  • Hoist/rigging per safety standards
  • Operate ancillary equipment- wheel loaders/skid steers
  • Participate in daily hazard assessments, tailgate meetings and company safety meetings
  • Operate company vehicles and equipment in a safe, professional and courteous manner
  • Operate basic hand tools, such as, shovels, rakes, brooms
  • Operate power tools
  • Assist welders and pipefitters, as required
  • Direct operators of construction equipment with alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to location needs
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
  • Ability to work shift work
  • Ability to work out of town for periods of time
  • Great degree of manual dexterity
  • 2 or more years experience in construction and/or oil and gas
  • Valid Class 5 License (Non GDL Preferred)
  • Clean Drivers Abstract (pulled within the last 30 days)
  • Ground Disturbance Level 2
  • Standard First Aid
  • H2S Alive
  • CSO or EGSO or CSTS or PCST
  • Ability to work within deadlines, under pressure, and with changing priorities
  • Strong drive to get projects completed safely
  • Demonstrated initiative
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
