Job Description

Otter Co-op is now accepting applications for a Part-Time Gas Bar Associate for our location in Ladner, BC.Who we are:Otter Co-op is a diverse and growing organization with locations throughout the Lower Mainland and Okanagan. We currently operate three food and pharmacy stores, clothing and hardware, twenty-six Angry Otter liquor stores, two feed mills, two bulk petroleum facilities, a feed and hardware store in Pitt Meadows, Angry Otter Tap & Forno, Angry Otter Brewery in North Vancouver, the Highwayman Pub in Abbotsford, eleven gas station/convenience stores and growing. Our guests can take pride that we are a 100% Canadian company owned by our members, and have continued to grow with sales of over $375 million and community sponsorships and donations of over $384,000 in 2021.To learn more about who we are and how you can help bring our brand to life, visit us at www.otterco-op.crs.What you’ll do:Reporting to the Gas Bar Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:

  • Provide exemplary service to customers in a courteous, efficient manner
  • Ensure that pump island, sales area and cooler products are stocked within approved programs, policies, and procedures
  • Assist with directing, training and scheduling team members as needed to support the Manager
  • Assist with writing and receiving orders, invoicing
  • Data entry into the RCBK computer system
  • Prepare the daily pump and cash reconciliation reports
  • Complete daily summaries and other paperwork
  • Operate the cash register and other equipment
  • Perform general housekeeping and maintenance duties
  • Contribute to the Team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community and Excellence
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Previous experience in a convenience store or gas station is an asset
  • Previous customer service experience in a retail setting is an asset
  • Strong math skills and computer skills
  • Honest, reliable, trustworthy, results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do
  • Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills – able to rise to the occasion in an emergency
  • Ability to work well under pressure and deal with competing priorities
  • You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives
  • The ideal candidate will have open availability to work 7 days per week with a variety of shifts, which will include early mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must have reliable transportation as bus is not always available for all shifts
  • Preference will be given to candidates that are willing and able to work at other Gas Bar locations, as business needs arise
  • Ability to perform physical job duties including lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50lbs regularly
