Job Description

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson Red Seal Refrigeration Mechanic to join our Engineering team at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. This technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems throughout the property. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, a commitment to safety and regulatory compliance, and the flexibility to work various shifts as assigned based on operational needs.Position Type: PermanentRate of Pay $40.68/hourStart Date: August 2025Job Duties Include:

  • Install, maintain, and repair a variety of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including:
    • Walk-in refrigerators and freezers
    • Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems
    • Heat pump systems
    • Central A/C systems
    • Ice machines
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, providing prompt and effective solutions
  • Perform and develop routine and preventative maintenance SOPs to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment
  • Handle refrigerant management including proper recovery, recycling, and reporting in full compliance with environmental regulations
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities, repairs, and refrigerant usage
  • Ensure that all refrigeration and HVAC work meets federal, provincial, and local codes and safety standards
  • Train and support shift maintenance colleagues in refrigeration-related work
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance with minimal disruption to hotel operations
  • Communicate professionally with guests and colleagues to address concerns related to temperature and air quality
  • Adhere to hotel vehicle handling and safety protocols when operating hotel vehicles
