Job DescriptionJob SummaryThe Carpentry Shop Assistant will assist the Carpentry Shop Foreman by fabricating decking panels, sawing, drilling and nailing, staple of raw materials. Drilling aluminum, wood and composite materials. Assembling dock frames and decking, attaching dock accessories as required. Other duties may be assigned as needed. This is a labour intensive position requiring individuals to perform repetitive tasks and stand for long periods of time.Job Duties

  • Identify materials used in wood shop
  • Fabricate decking panels using a jig
  • Drill into aluminum or wood to attach hinges and dock accessories
  • Drill into aluminum to attach floatation to dock frames
  • Report to supervisor when stock levels are getting low to avoid delays in production
  • Keep shop area clean and organized
Job Type / CategoryThis position is at our fabrication facility in Lakefield, Ontario. Regular hours of 7am - 5pm Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays in peak season.Full Time seasonal position to start, with the possibility to lead to full time year round position.Heavy lifting may be required.Long periods of standing requiredRequired Education, Skills and QualificationsBasic knowledge of hand tools and wood or metal tools an asset. We have been manufacturing docks, Boat lifts, Marine Railways and boathouse structures for waterfront homes and cottages for over 44 years.
