Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITYSlegg Building Materials is currently seeking a full-time permanent Manufacturing Labourer to work Monday to Friday. The wage range for this role is $20.00 - $24.00 per hour, based on experience. Yearly wage increases based on performance (between 1% - 3%).THE LOCATION – 1210 Chidlow Connector Road, Langford BC, V9C 3W7Langford is the business heart of the Westshore, where you will find large retailers, light industrial companies, and many small businesses. We are excited to offer monthly breakfast or lunch events to our staff.THE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures
  • Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment through the facility manually or using forklift (training can be provided)
  • Quality check and audit completed orders and products
  • Receive, sort, pack, stock, materials, and products
  • Assist machine operators, assemblers and other workers as needed
  • Cut and prepare packages for customers, process returns
  • Clean work areas and equipment; maintain the general appearance of work areas
  • Perform weekly inventory counts and stock merchandise
  • Minimize scrap and waste
THE REQUIREMENTS
  • High school education or higher
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Basic math skills
  • Experience using a chainsaw is an asset
  • Forklift experience is an asset
  • Experience in warehouse or similar is required
  • Physical requirements include:
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
    • Pulling, pushing, bending and torso twisting movements with weight
