We want to support all applicants during this process.*Position summary: *The Property Unit Inspector, internally referred to as the Maintenance Coordinator, works closely with Property Managers and Caretakers of our 6 regional offices across British Columbia to ensure M’akola’s properties are maintained in accordance with MHS’s policies and procedures, building codes and WorkSafe BC regulations.The job duties include working with Property Managers on annual site inspections and tracking proactive and seasonal maintenance.This position is Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week.M’akola offers the following:

Responsibilities:
  • Administer the annual unit inspections and other inspections for all properties:
  • Identify needs
  • Document the unit condition
  • Track action items
  • Use property management software system
  • Set annual maintenance plan
  • General administrative duties as related to this role
  • Other related duties as required from time to time
Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience in building trades (no ticket required)
  • Property management, social housing, and trade journeyman experience are considered assets
  • Experience working in and with the Indigenous communities and Indigenous people is an asset
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Some knowledge of building mechanics, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.
  • Basic MS Office skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
Other:
  • Willing to travel at least 25% of the time with additional travel required for urgent issues
  • Provide Criminal Record Check upon selection, costs covered by M’akola
  • Follow M’akola policies and procedures
  • Have valid class 5 driver’s license
