Job Description

Buyer – Industrial DistributionLangley, BCOur client is offering an incredible opportunity to individuals who have the motivation and drive to achieve something great; individuals who are excited about the opportunity to not only gain valuable experience in the workplace but who want to convert their efforts into future opportunity. Lock Search Group has been retained to recruit a Buyer for their location in Langley, BC.We are looking for someone who can prioritize their day and handle multiple tasks at once. This will be a critical element to your success in this role as you will juggle several different tasks on a daily basis. Your ability to identify and tackle these tasks according to priority will make you successful in carrying out the day-to-day tasks of this role. In order to satisfy this requirement, you must be insightful and understand patterns and the flow of inventory. You must have experience working in a distribution environment with min-max levels and procuring in line with min-max levels.Daily tasks:

  • Placing purchase orders and delivering materials to ensure customers order requirements are met and manage stock nventory levels within approved guidelines
  • Purchasing materials for inventory and non-stock items for both customer orders and branches
  • Communicating with vendors to ensure orders have been received
  • Relationship building during negotiations
  • Monitoring price increases/vendor quotes and communicating changes to internal departments
  • Resolving any errors on purchase orders as necessary
  • Help forecast for future demand & supply cycles
Requirements:
  • At minimum, a High School Diploma; post-secondary education would be considered an asset
  • 3+ year’s experience in a similar role
  • Experience in a high SKU count environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Thorough working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Exceptional multi-tasking and prioritization skills are absolutely essential
