Annually, we provide services to over 2500 individuals and families.The OpportunityWe are currently looking for a self-directed, engaging, empathetic Casual/On Call Child and Youth Support Worker to join our growing team. Reporting to the Senior Residence Worker, the Child and Youth Support Worker will provide support to youth through care plans that develop social and life skills while living in a collaborative team environment. The program, located in Langley, is a 24 hour emergency receiving home for youth between the ages of 12 to 19 who are in need of a short term stabilization.JOB POSTING: 2021-0100CYSW-CasualDATE: May 4, 2022POSITION: Casual/On callSALARY RANGE: $22.68BENEFITS: Not EligibleVACATION: as per ESS policyCLOSING: OngoingANTICIPATED START DATE: ASAPKey Responsibilities1. Ensures that the living environment for program participants is trauma informed, inclusive, comfortable and non-judgmental.2. Provides supportive advice and emotional support to program participants on a one-one and/or group basis.3. Ensure that program participant’s personal needs are met by supporting participants with basic personal hygiene, preparing healthy and nutritious meals, and providing access to community resources.4. Ensures that logbooks and other documentation such as daily activity and incident reports are legible and completed in a timely manner.5. Supports program participants with emotional dysregulation providing supportive conversations and coping mechanisms.6. Maintains professional boundaries with program participants.7. Provides transportation and accompanies program participants to support them in attending appointments and healthy community activities.8. Monitors program participant’s medications in accordance with established policy, guidelines and training.9. Performs housekeeping duties in support of health and safety regulations. This may include but is not limited to vacuuming, dusting, emptying garbage, sanitizing, cleaning and laundry. Reports maintenance needs to the supervisor.10. Performs other related duties as required.We are interested in candidates with the following Qualifications1. Education and Knowledge

• Certificate/Diploma in a related human/social service field
• Education and experience utilizing trauma informed practice
• Primary source credential verification

2. Training and Experience

• Two (2) years recent related experience
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Current First Aid

3. Skills and Abilities

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective problem-solving, conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills
• Ability to be flexible, resourceful and possess good time management skills.
• Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, including lifting, and bending.

4. Other Information

• Must possess a valid BC Class 5 Drivers’ license, have a reliable vehicle, Business Insurance and acceptable drivers abstract. (mileage paid for work use)
• Criminal Record check
• Must possess a working knowledge of computers (Microsoft Word/Excel)
