Consider joining the Klondike Contracting team today where you will be professionally challenged and supported in your career.We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail orientated Construction Estimator to join our team.As a Construction Estimator and a member of the team, you will be responsible for the accurate project estimation and tendering of all of our estimations including, but not limited to, commercial, institutional and civil, projects using Master Format 16 Divisions.Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced growing company and is solution-focused.Job ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:CORE VALUES

  • Contribute as a member of the Klondike Team utilizing our values of safety, teamwork, trust, accountability, continuous learning, and high performance
  • Promote and maintain good working relationships and collaboration with peers, clients, consultants, and suppliers
  • Ensure safety is a priority that is managed in every project
TAKE OFF’S
  • Prepare Electronic quality take-off’s for all self-performed work and materials
CRITICAL PATH
  • Work with the VP of Construction Operations, to develop realistic critical path construction schedules
HAND OFF TRANSFER MEETING
  • Set up and lead transfer meetings with the Project manager, Site Supervisor, and the VP of Construction Operations
  • Proactively communicate with Project Mangers the bid requirements and address concerns
  • Manage bid documents and lead the hand-off meetings with the Project Mangers
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
  • Build and maintain a team directory of suppliers, supplies and trades
  • Contribute to building and following standard operating procedures
  • Provide regular continuous improvement recommendations to estimating bidding and processes
LEAD AND MENTOR
  • Lead by example to instill and apply our core values of safety, teamwork, trust, accountability, continuous learning, and high performance
  • Mentor and Manager team members as requested
Other duties as requiredRequired Experience & Skills
  • 5+ years’ construction estimation experience required.
  • Exceptional communication, management, customer service, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong working experience with MS Project, Office, and construction management, accounting and estimating software
  • Strong knowledge and application of current provincial & municipal building codes
  • Technically strong with the ability to analyze the projects, architectural, structural, and mechanical & electrical plans, specifications and permits
  • Strong and effective communication, collaboration, and client service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • High degree and proactive organization, and time management skills
  • Strong work ethic, highly motivated and enjoys a challenge
  • Highly self-motivated, directed, and accountable
  • Access to a vehicle and a valid BC driver’s license to drive to project sites throughout the lower mainland
