Job Description

Are you a dedicated, passionate professional looking to grow your career with a company long-term Join Hall Mechanical as an Estimator!Your day-to-day will look like:

  • Negotiate and develop the scope of deliverables, work plans, schedules and budgets for all project stages
  • Design-Assist/Design-Build and Bid Spec Tender Experience a definite asset
  • Create a detailed allocation of estimated project hours to the work plan to be handed over to the Mechanical Project Manager for execution on the plan and budgets.
  • Lead and attend regular estimating meetings ( Tender Review, Tender Close, Kick Off Meetings ). Ensure a clean and organized estimating hand off to the project management team and that all deliverables and budgets are well understood and accounted for.
  • Demonstrate an ability to coordinate with other team members and to collaborate with other professional disciplines
  • Maintain a good understanding of the project scope, negotiate solutions to ensure outcomes meet client expectations and contractual obligations; prepare PCN pricing as requested.
  • Ensure timely communications throughout all project phases, develop and maintain meeting minutes, and follow up on all action items
  • Good understanding of Quality Management System (IQMS) deliverables and how to integrate those costs into mechanical estimates
  • Participate in project reviews to review project, budget work plan, schedule and risks for future project estimates and to adjust pricing as needed for future tenders.
  • Act as the primary estimating liaison with the client, subcontractors and project team
  • Ensure close client relationships are maintained through regular contact; stays informed of changing needs and direction
  • Maintains and develops positive client relations to ensure business continuity and promote business growth
  • Support new business opportunities by leveraging existing contacts
  • Maximize growth and increase market share by identifying potential business opportunities
  • Monitor and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, consultants and key stakeholders
  • Participate in the development of comprehensive business solutions that meet and exceed client objectives for new and existing projects
  • Works to develop strategies for cross-selling and educating clients about the firm’s areas of expertise
You have the following qualifications, technical and interpersonal skills:Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for the right candidate
  • P.Eng or EIT designation a definite asset
  • Solid understanding of Mechanical Estimating within the ICI ( Institutional, Commercial, Industrial) sector
  • 1 - 3 years of estimating experience required within the ICI sector
Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in Mechanical engineering systems and estimating for bid spec and design-assist/Design-Build projects
  • Proficient with Trimble Accubid Estimating software
  • A history of accurate and competitive tenders
  • A well-established network of relationships with high quality, competitive suppliers and the willingness to pick up the phone and call them for pricing and negotiation
  • Maintain knowledge of competitive advantages in the industry to aid bidding process
  • Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
  • Obtain accurate quotes for materials and systems to establish accurate cost estimates
