JOB POSTINGPositionTechnical Writer(Temporary Part Time)Work SiteEnvirogreen Technologies Ltd.’s head office is located in Langley, BC. Although the position is based out ofthe Langley office, some work activities may occur (from time to time) at the company’s facility located inPrinceton, BC.About Envirogreen TechnologiesEnvirogreen Technologies Ltd. (ETL) is an established waste management company, leading the wayin the treatment of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes. Our permitted hazardous wastetreatment facility located outside of Princeton, BC, utilizes thermal desorption technology to treat awide range of industrial waste and contaminated soil.The OpportunityETL is looking for a Technical Writer to join our team. The Technical Writer works under thedirection of the Regulatory Compliance Manager and works with Regulatory ComplianceCoordinators to prepare policies, procedures, and other technical documents to support thecompany’s health and safety and environmental programs.The job duties include:

  • Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards.
  • Develop an understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements to
explain/translate regulatory requirements into simple, polished, and engaging content.
  • Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience.
  • Evaluate current content and develop innovative approaches for improvement.
  • Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content working closely with staff to
understand project requirements.
  • Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write
policy manuals, procedure manuals, and process documentation.
  • Research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that uphold organizational
and legal standards and allow for easy data migration.
  • Develop content in alternative medial forms for maximum usability, with a consistent and
cohesive voice across all documentation.Requirements• Advanced education in relevant technical field (e.g. Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree,technical diploma, or similar).
  • Two (2) to four (4) years’ academic or industry experience preparing technical documents (e.g.
lab reports, scientific papers, policies, procedures).
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics.
  • Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with a good understanding of
prioritization.
  • Experience preparing documents for COR (Certificate of Recognition) or OSSE (Occupational
Safety Standard of Excellence) certification is an asset.
  • Valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle suitable for driving in all weather
conditions.
  • Approachable, considerate, respectful, good listening skills, and collaborative.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, creative, and a positive outlook.
Work Conditions• Work is generally office-based and requires use of a computer
  • Occasional travel to company’s facility located in Princeton, BC (i.e. daytrips and some
overnight trips)
  • Occasional exposure to high noise areas – hearing protection may be required
  • Occasional exposure to high dust levels – respiratory protection may be required
  • Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions
