Additional information about the Company can be found at www.abctechnologies.com.Job Summary:A spotting leader in a in a tooling facility typically has several key responsibilities, focused on ensuring the quality and efficiency of the manufacturing process and ensuring the precision and quality of the tool which directly impacts the quality and consistency of the automotive parts produced. Their expertise helps maintain high standards and efficiency in the manufacturing process.Job Responsibilities:Your supervisor may from time to time ask you to perform other related duties not specifically included in this job description. This job #39;s key responsibilities include:

  • Visual and Dimensional Inspections: Conducting detailed inspections of tooling to ensure they meet the precise specifications required for automotive parts production.
  • Spotting and Polishing: Ensuring that the surfaces of the tooling are free from defects such as scratches, burrs, or imperfections that could affect the quality of the manufactured parts.
  • Fit and Finish: Ensuring that all components of the tooling fit together correctly and function as intended. This involves fine-tuning and adjusting parts to achieve the desired fit.
  • Troubleshooting: Addressing any issues with the tooling, such as alignment problems, wear, or damage, and coordinating repairs or adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintaining Records: Keeping detailed records of inspections, adjustments, and maintenance performed on the tooling. This helps in tracking the history and performance of each tool.
  • Reporting: Communicating findings, issues, and suggestions for improvements to supervisors, engineering teams, and quality control departments.
  • Adhering to Standards: Ensuring that all tooling meets industry standards and company specifications, as well as adhering to safety regulations.
Job Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED: This is the minimum educational requirement for most entry-level positions.
  • Technical or Vocational Training: Many employers prefer candidates who have completed technical or vocational training in fields such as machining, tool and die making, or manufacturing technology.
  • Associate #39;s Degree (Optional): An associate #39;s degree in a related field, such as manufacturing technology or mechanical engineering, can be advantageous and provide a stronger foundation in technical knowledge.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating and understanding the function of various machines and tools used in manufacturing automotive parts. Ability to use precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to inspect parts and tooling.
  • Blueprint Reading: Understanding and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints to ensure parts and tooling meet specifications.
  • CNC Operation: Knowledge of CNC machines and programming can be beneficial.
  • Manufacturing Experience: Several years of experience (typically 3-5 years) in a manufacturing environment, particularly in roles involving machining, tool making, or quality inspection.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in the automotive industry is highly valuable due to specific standards and requirements.
