Job Description

Education Assistant ~ Part-time (2 Positions)0.50 FTE – 15 hours per weekCaledonia Park School– Leduc, ABDuties:

  • Work with students with severe behavioural needs
  • Work with students on the autism spectrum
  • Must be able to provide and maintain a safe environment for a student known to run
  • Work with students with mild to severe cognitive and communication delays
  • Literacy and numeracy intervention and development with students
  • Diaper and toilet students
  • Inside and outside supervision as required
  • Work as a team member with teachers and administration
  • Other duties as assigned by school administration
Qualifications:
  • Willingness to accept new challenges and learn new ideas
  • Ability and willingness to perform a variety of tasks with students following the direction of the
classroom teacher
  • Positive Behavior training is an asset
  • Non-Violent Crisis training is an asset
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Education Assistant certificate/diploma is an asset
  • Able to lift approximately fifty pounds required
  • Physically work with students that routinely require assistance with chasing, lifting, transferring, positioning,
and toileting
  • Physically able to work with students at their level, (running, squatting, kneeling and sitting on the floor)
Details:
  • Hours of work: Monday to Friday mornings
  • Salary and benefits according to C.U.P.E. Collective Agreement
