Job Description

Inventory / Yard Control SupervisorEvery day the team at Aspen Custom Trailers takes on some of the biggest heavy haul design and manufacturing challenges in North America. What may appear as “mission impossible” to some customers and manufacturers are precisely the challenges that Aspen’s team likes best.This growing business looks for people with energy, drive and passion to contribute to the team. We have been doing this for the past 40 years and have survived in some of the toughest times, keeping our workforce going.Responsibilities

  • To ensure our inventory is highly accurate and maintained through process improvements.
  • Creation and implementation of process improvements.
  • Training material handlers, receivers on new processes.
  • Monitor current processes and report suggested improvements to management for their feedback.
  • Management of cycle count process
  • Responsible for inventory adjustments and define reasons for them.
  • Investigating reasons for missing parts or parts that are found to find the root cause of the problem rather than just making an adjustment.
  • Adhere to all Safety regulations set forth by Aspen’s safety program.
  • Communicate with VMI vendors and subcontractors to ensure price, quality and delivery expectations are being met.
  • Build and foster excellent communications with material handlers & receivers.

  • Strong attention to detail with ability to retain information
  • Self motivated and able to keep busy with solid organizational capabilities
  • Able to work collaboratively and uses good decision-making practices
  • Good problem-solving ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate computer literacy with Microsoft Office (Excel, Windows, Visual, Outlook)
  • The ability to interpret and understand engineered drawings an asset
Qualifications
  • Minimum of two years’ experience supervising a small team in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with the system we use (Visual Manufacturing from Infor) would be a bonus.
  • Basic knowledge of Supply Chain Management, a recognized professional designation is an asset but not required
  • Education in Supply Chain Management is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills
