ON BEHALF OF VULCRAFT CANADA, INC.Vulcraft Canada, Inc, A Division of Nucor Corporation is currently looking for a Health and Safety Administrator to support our Western Operations working between or Leduc, and Wetaskiwin, facilities.The Health & Safety Administrator, reporting to our Canadian Environmental, Health and Safety Manager but working closely with the Operation Managers will be responsible to assist both facilities with the continual improvement of all health and safety aspects of our operations.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate conduct consistent with Vulcraft Canada, Inc.’s vision and valuesLead and facilitate participation of teammates at safety and JHSC meetings and record minutesConduct onsite incident investigations and work with supervisors and operations managers to ensure timely closure of investigationsmonitor and maintain the safety incident tracking, hazard analysis database in IntelexConduct follow-ups for incidents reported in Intelex and ensure corrective actions are completed on timeSupport Certificate of Recognition (C.O.R.) program requirements and audits for Western CanadaConduct proactive safety activities, including inspection, observations and training/education at both locations as neededAssist as required in upkeep of statisticsResponsible for all administration relating to WCB claim reportingResponsible to support accommodation and modified work requirements relating to WCB return to work injury or assisting the HR department for non-work-related illness or injuryEnsure safety data sheets are maintainedParticipate in annual review of the health and safety management systemDevelop, promote and maintain Vulcraft Canada, Inc.’s positive safety cultureAssess and implement controls to identify and eliminate potential hazardsAssist in the development, coordination and organization of effective H&S policies, procedures, programs, and equipment ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulationsPromote, advise, and mentor managers, supervisors and teammates about safe work practices, and management and safety standards & regulationsAdminister and coordinate the local Emergency Response Plan (ERP) program, conducting drills and assessing effectivenessCoordinate New Hire orientation and trainingIdentify training needs and requirements and assist in the development and delivery of internal EHS training or coordination of offsite training activitiesOther duties as assignedRequirementsMinimum Qualifications and Requirements:High School Diploma3 years experience as a Health and Safety administrator in a manufacturing environmentExceptional communication skills, both verbal and writtenThe ability to work both independently and with a teamMust be very organized, self-starter with a strong attention to detailStrong time management skills with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlinesAbility to form strong working relationshipsProficient in Microsoft Office programsThis position requires the successful candidate to have a valid drivers licence and use of personal vehicle with the ability to travel between locations when required.
