Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking a qualified Underground Mining Construction Structural Superintendent to join our Mining team, based out of Leroy, SK. The Underground Mining Construction Structural Superintendent will work a 14/7 rotation, 10-hour days. Responsible for overseeing the 24-7 coordination of mining contractors who are executing the underground infrastructure construction.The underground construction scope will include SMPEI work packages to establish the potash level infrastructure including bins, conveyors, shops, power stations, warehousing and more. Located approximately 140 km east of Saskatoon, SK; this is BHP’s first and most advanced potash project. Jansen’s large resource endowment provides the opportunity to develop it in stages, with an anticipated initial capacity of 4.35 Mtpa. The BHP Board has recently sanctioned Jansen Project (Stage 1), with a US $5.7 billion investment. The project is now entering the construction phase, with the first potash expected in 2027.The Jansen project has established an Integrated Project Team (IPT) between BHP, Hatch and Bantrel Joint Venture (HBJV) to execute the mining scope. The IPT promotes shared accountability between BHP and HBJV, trusting people selected for each role as they work towards safely delivering the mining scope on time, on budget, and with high quality. The IPT is effective in work planning, rapid and empowered decision-making, and continuous improvement through a joint construction and operational mindset.
