Job Description

Matrix is hiring Apprentice Plumbers/ Gasfitters in Lethbridge, AB. The pay rate is $19-$30 depending on the year of apprenticeship.Scope of work:

  • The Apprentice supports the optimum execution of the installation, gains on-the-job training, and learns and promotes the clients culture and process.
  • Their responsibilities are equivalent to their year and may include those identified as Helper (especially at Y1 and Y2).
  • These individuals are indentured in Plumbing, Sheet Metal, or Refrigeration and require direct supervision of a Journeyman when undertaking installation responsibilities.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with PVC
  • Installing, maintaining, or replacing systems and fixtures while under direct supervision from a Journeyman.
  • Performing inspections and testing systems for safety, functionality, and code compliance.
  • Providing advice to superiors or other Apprentices.
  • Ensuring materials meet installation standards.
  • Answering or directing practical questions to the appropriate channel.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving problems.
  • Locating and identifying leaks.
  • Cutting, welding, and assembling.
  • Determining the right tools and equipment to successfully complete the job.
  • Assisting their superiors to ensure work is in accordance with current codes.
  • Gaining experience in the field.
  • Supporting or undertaking the responsibilities of the Helper.
  • Managing expectations.
Qualifications:
  • Required Tickets: WHMIS, Aerial Lift, Fall Protection, valid AB Journeyman ticket/indenture status.
