Job Description

Our remarkable team, made up of individuals with unique talents and perspectives, work together each and every day to deliver exceptional, successful projects and experiences for our clients across Western and Northern Canada through innovation and inspiration.Reporting to a Superintendent, the Foreman will be responsible for constructing, erecting and repairing buildings and other structures made of wood, wood substitutes, concrete, steel and other materials. Conditions. The Foreman is responsible for ensuring safety, schedule delivery, quality of work performed and adherence to budget of the project. The Foreman work on a wide variety of commercial, industrial and institutional buildings and structures. The Foreman has supervisory responsibility for Carpenters, Carpenter Apprentices, and trade labor in his/her area.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and making decisions related to the performance of work of Carpenters and apprentices on site.
  • Overseeing work among assigned trades to promote a coordinated project operation. Resolving local area problems regarding procedures, precedence, design clarifications, adequate labor and equipment, schedule and all other appropriate matters.
  • Managing in conjunction with the Site Superintendent the overall site safety program as required and ensuring subcontractor compliance with Frontier standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
  • Supervising and developing Lead hands and Carpenters, as assigned.
  • Assisting the Superintendent when requested to determine sequencing of work. Developing and implementing recovery strategies to maintain project schedule.
  • Managing the work to ensure that it is installed in compliance with and conforms to the approved contract documents.
  • May perform other duties as necessary or assigned
Qualifications:
  • Certificate of Qualification/Red Seal Carpenter or a minimum of Ten years concrete forming experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
  • Knowledge of building construction, means and methods
  • A strong background in the Concrete Forming industry is required for this position
  • Knowledge of Doka, Peri, Aluma and other modular forming systems are an asset
  • Proven written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract drawings (with a focus on structural, Architectural concrete and Rebar prints a necessity)
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Working at heights certification is a requirement
  • Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction
Training Requirement:
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience
  • Valid OSSA Fall Protection, ESC - EWP, CSTS 09 or 20 and WHMIS 2015 are required
  • ACSA Leadership for Safety Excellence, ACSA, Principles for Health and Safety Management
  • Standard First Aid
  • Valid Telehandler and Skid Steer training
  • Leadership training
