Your Opportunity:The Ultrasound Department at the Chinook Regional Hospital is offering the exciting opportunity for you to join our team. CRH is the main hospital for the City of Lethbridge and Southern Alberta and contributes to the critical care for patients with high levels of acuity. Lethbridge is Alberta’s third largest city and supports an active and growing economy. Lethbridge records the warmest winter temperatures in the prairies and is home to the University of Lethbridge, Lethbridge College and WHL hockey team the Lethbridge Hurricanes. As a Diagnostic Sonographer, your responsibilities will include excellent patient care while performing accurate sonographic examinations to investigate, document and provide information about pathology while applying critical thinking and collaboration with Radiologists, Cardiologists, fellow Sonographers and other medical support staff. Participation in ongoing education is encouraged. This includes participating in AHS quality improvement processes, attending meetings, conferences, in-services, professional development programs and preceptor responsibilities related to provincial training programs.Description:As a Diagnostic Sonographer I, you will perform a variety of standardized and complex ultrasound services for the diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology. Your responsibilities include preparing the patient for examination, reviewing patient history, explaining procedures, obtaining ultrasound images of diagnostic quality, and takes initial action to resolve abnormal findings. You will assist with diagnosis, clinical intervention and patient management all while ensuring a high level of patient care and safety. Your work may include assisting Radiologists and Cardiologists, Perinatologists and other medical staff with special procedures where required.
