Your Opportunity:The Dietitian Il - Team Lead has a key leadership role and reports directly to the Manager, South Zone Nutrition Services. This position is responsible and accountable for practice support to frontline dietitians in facilities and community based settings, in support of the operational priorities of Nutrition Services. The Dietitian Il — Team Lead will be required to provide a small component of direct nutrition care in an acute care setting. Responsibilities of this position include providing practice support to frontline dietitians, leading and/or supporting planning, development, zone implementation and evaluation of AHS initiatives with a nutrition component, advocating for inclusion of nutrition initiatives in local priorities and building and sustaining effective working relationships with dietitians, patients/clients/communities, zone and provincial colleagues, and external stakeholders. The Dietitian Il — Team Lead also provides nutrition care and/or consultation to patients/clients/communities to achieve nutrition and health outcomes using a patient focused approach.Description:As a Dietitian II, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes while functioning as the lead in the coordination of nutrition services in an assigned service area. You may coordinate the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area, provide practice support to other Dietitians, as well as identify staff development needs and opportunities for continuing education. Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence based nutrition information. You may also facilitate the design, integration and coordination of strategies from provincial, zone and community perspectives. This work can include program planning and development and overseeing all aspects of programs relating to nutrition in target populations.
