Your Opportunity:Reporting to the CRH Site Manager and under the direction of the Microbiology department Clinical Supervisor and MLT III, this position provides technical and clerical functions. Sample receipt and accessioning as needed. Labels, plants and streaks media and conducts gram stain preparation. Performs parasitology preparation. Performs media inventory and receives media and reagents. Stocks supplies and maintains inventory. Performs various methods of sterilization. Operates a variety of equipment such as autoclaves, balances and automatic pipettors. Performs basic preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment. Performs and records quality assurance for equipment. Reports safety incidents or deficiencies to the technologist in charge and completes required documentation.Description:As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. Candidate must possess the ability to work independently as well as in a group setting. Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with patients and other health care providers are required. Good performance and attendance records required.Preferred Qualifications:Recent experience in a microbiology lab preferred.
