Do you work well under pressure Do you love working with your hands, and able to fix almost anything in a power plant environment We are looking for a talented Maintenance Worker IV at Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge. The Maintenance Worker IV position is a vital role in patient and health care worker safety as it performs essential services to ensure building systems are operating efficiently, machines run smoothly, and the physical condition of buildings and grounds are well kept. In this role, you are the first responder to various departments for after hour, weekend and emergency requests from other departments. We are looking for an experienced troubleshooter who can assess and solve operational problems regarding indoor air quality control, heating, ventilation, and other building control systems. You are accountable for ensuring the facility is safe by conducting inspections, providing maintenance, and making repairs and recommendations. This is an important role for someone with considerable initiative and judgment who can provide leadership and support to others within the maintenance team. If you’re a mechanically-minded Power Engineer who loves the outdoors, this may be the perfect opportunity for you.Description:As a Maintenance Worker IV, you will perform a variety of highly skilled and complex maintenance and repair work requiring considerable initiative and judgment in determining the appropriate work methods consistent with standards, regulations and procedures. You will utilize your supervisory and/or maintenance skills and experience to perform preventative maintenance and repair duties on specialized equipment and building control systems, and to provide leadership and direction to other maintenance staff in order to meet operational requirements. In addition, you will perform specialized machine repairs, as well as the maintenance and monitoring of systems and equipment. You may be responsible to resolve escalated operational issues; act as a delegate for the Manager on operational issues; participate in the recruitment and selection of new staff; assisting the design and implementation of preventative maintenance programs; estimate project costs; and liaise with outside agencies and contractors.

Required Qualifications:Completion of post-secondary education in a related field and/or technical certification in a related field required or 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate as per ABSA kW rating guidelines where boiler support is necessary.Additional Required Qualifications:Demonstrated mechanical aptitude is required with at least one-year experience in plant operations and maintenance. Basic computer skills in Windows operating environment is a requirement. Ability to work under pressure and effectively troubleshoot and solve operational problems. Demonstrated ability to work well with others as well as independently. Strong commitment to client satisfaction and to promoting teamwork and partnerships.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working as a 4th Class Power Engineer is preferred. HVAC specific training and/or experience with ability to operate and troubleshoot systems (ventilation, hydronics, boilers, refrigeration, etc.). Experience with computerized building control systems. Ability to read and interpret building drawings and schematics (e.g. architectural, mechanical, electrical, controls, structural, civil, etc.).
