Job Description

Job SummaryThe Member Experience and Acquisitions Manager serves the mission of the YMCA of Lethbridge by leading the membership and rentals team, increasing our membership base, and supporting the daily operations of the team. The main goals of this position are:1. Completing administrative tasks to support the functions of the department2. Developing and evaluating the membership and facility offerings to meet community needs3. Maintaining positive profit margins and growth within the membership and facility departmentKey Relationships

Nature & ScopeThe Member Experience and Acquisitions Manager will support the membership and rental department, the responsibilities for this position are, but not limited to:
  • Supervisory duties including hiring, mentoring, and training employees and volunteers, payroll, vacation requests, performance management and evaluations for direct reports
  • Overseeing and maintaining the department budgets, marketing, and revenue avenues
  • Developing a strong rental portfolio to meet the needs of the community
  • Committing to exceptional quality of services by providing excellent customer service and responding to the needs of all YMCA of Lethbridge users
  • Developing a strong sales and rental strategy to meet the operational goals and objectives
  • Implementing and continuing progression of a member retention program and facility rentals, communicating monthly reports and analysis to leaders
  • Promoting and attracting new members to join or upgrade their membership
  • Overseeing outreach to members and patrons to reduce barriers to accessing services
  • Fostering and developing a strong culture and sense of community within the YMCA of Lethbridge
  • Acting as an YMCA Ambassador and strategic leader in the community by developing partnerships and relationships through community groups, committee work, and continued outreach opportunities
  • Leading and developing all membership and facility in-service trainings, attending all required YMCA trainings and recertifications
  • Acting as a leader in health and safety, ensuring the highest level of standards are being met and maintained throughout the facility
  • Providing support, guidance, and leadership to the annual fundraising campaign as a member of the Leadership team
Physical/Special Demands
  • This position has no physical/special demands
Qualifications and Experience
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Recreation, Sport Management or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years supervisory experience in a recreation or sales-based capacity
  • 2 – 3 years sales experience in a recreation or service-based industry
  • Experience managing large, effective teams to collaboratively achieve desired outcomes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including advanced use of technology
  • Experience developing and managing large department budgets
  • Current Intermediate First Aid and CPR Level C certifications
  • Evidence of an acceptable Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Evidence of an acceptable Child Intervention Check
  • Three professional references required
