Job Description

Lethbridge Vision Care is a successful, dedicated, and innovative Optometry clinic committed to providing expert eye exams with personalized patient care. We are seeking an experienced Optometric Assistant to join our team. This is a part time position with the potential to transition into full time. Our ideal candidate would be an optimistic, detail-oriented, and reliable individual with a desire to grow with our company!**Must be available to work weekdays (specifically mornings), the occasional Saturday and no time-off requests for January**Position: Optometric Assistant (Part time)Location: Lethbridge Vision Care (inside Park Place Mall, attached to Lenscrafters)Hours: 5 - 30 hrs per weekJob duties include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting preliminary testing on patients (creating medical charts with a wide range of complaints/concerns/ocular history, operating diagnostic machines & contact lens training)
  • Scheduling & confirming appointments
  • Answering multiple phone lines
  • Checking patients in/out
  • Submitting insurance claims on various portals
  • Billing to Alberta Health Care
  • Ordering and selling contact lenses
  • Selling eye care products/accessories based on doctor recommendation
  • Creating invoices & receiving payments
  • Cleaning & office maintenance
Requirements:
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Flexible, hands-on work who is a fast learner

  • Great time management & organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Outgoing personality with excellent customer service skills
  • Professional presentation & respect for patient confidentiality

Experience:
  • 1 or more years experience in Optometry or a related field
  • Medical office experience is considered to be an asset
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant, Medical Office Assistant, or other related certification/post secondary is considered to be an asset
Job Type: Part-timeSalary: $18.00-$19.00 per hourBenefits:
