ResponsibilitiesThe Centre for Applied Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CARIE) is a catalyst for economic growth, sustainability, and social development in the region. Reporting to the Manager of Applied Research Operations (MARO) in CARIE, the Project Coordinator helps steward applied research and fee-for-service projects from client intake through to completion.This role supports specific research areas, as assigned. To begin this contact, support will be provided to two rapidly growing research programs: Spatial Technologies Applied Research and Training Centre (START) and Public Safety Applied Research Initiative (PSARI).CARIE is a fast-paced, innovative and dynamic work environment and this position requires adaptability, flexibility, and entrepreneurial spirit. This position is a full-time, three-year contract.Key Responsibilities and Functions:The coordinator will work closely with the assigned research teams and administrative staff on project stewardship. The coordinator will arrange exploratory meetings with clients/collaborators/partners and attend these meetings, providing support to the research teams and administration to develop projects; help prepare grant proposals and reports to external funding agencies; help develop agreements and contracts; perform project progress tracking, metrics, and reporting; and file and process confidential documents for all projects. The coordinator will be a team-player, working collaboratively across the entire centre.
