Representative, Partnership SalesDivision:Business DevelopmentLast Revision:December 2022Reports to:Manager, Partnership SalesDirect reports:N/AIndirect Reports:N/AA leader in southern Alberta’s agriculture and entertainment industry since 1897, Lethbridge & District Exhibition (LDE) has stood out as the premier destination for bringing people together from all over the world. It is our mandate to encourage the enhancement of the agriculture industry and the quality of life of citizens living within the agricultural community. In their efforts to continuously accelerate economic opportunity through the delivery of memorable experiences, construction of a new 268,000-square foot Agri-food Hub and Trade Centre is set to be complete for opening in Spring 2023 (www.agrifoodhub.ca).Reporting to the Manager, Partnership Sales, the Representative, Partnership Sales, is responsible for the development and sales of partnerships for the LDE. This role requires an individual who a client-centric sales leader with a passion for building and delivering outstanding brand campaigns on a local, provincial and/or national scale. Key Work Activities

  • Leading a portfolio of integrated partnership development;
  • Building strong and trusted business relationships with corporate partnerships through regular and pro-active contact, continually seeking to secure and renew brand partnerships for the LDE;
  • Analyze and mine open local, provincial, national and international categories to ensure new business pipelines are created and remain strong;
  • Optimize sale approach to ensure sell-through of assets across the LDE portfolio;
  • Manage new business by developing leads and securing meetings with prospective clients to achieve revenue targets;
  • Liaise with the Communications, Marketing and Risk Management division as necessary to provide sales support to corporate partners;
  • Under the direction of the Director, Business Development, work to ensure that the strategy and long-term goals of the LDE are used to develop customized, integrated and innovative partnership proposals that demonstrate insight and knowledge of a corporate partner’s business;
  • Ability to implement, execute and maintain the LDE sales process including product knowledge, needs analysis, proposal preparation and presentation, negotiating and administratively tracking sales in new and existing pipelines;
  • Create any materials required to pitch and present to prospective corporate partners;
  • Lead presentations and negotiate packages to potential corporate partners;
  • Initiate and maintain regular contact with corporate partners, developing strong professional relationships;
  • Provide thought leadership to partners during planning stages and throughout delivery, setting a higher standard of creativity and strategic delivery;
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the client’s business and competitive environment in order to continually deliver business objectives that align with both the corporate partner and the LDE;
  • Proactively identify and handle critical issues, demonstrate resilience and adapt to evolving plans and strategies;
  • Work in collaboration with all departments at the LDE to identify and develop new commercialized strategies that can be presented to corporate partners as sellable opportunities.
Working Environment
  • Work undefined hours – some events during the year will require extended hours.
  • Standard office environment for the majority of the time.
  • Ability to be physically mobile for extended periods of time during events - freedom of movement, walking, and standing is required.
  • Driving greater than two (2) hours may be required.
Education and Experience:
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of demonstrated success in a sales and/or event partnership role
  • Experience with successfully developing and maintaining new and existing business relationships with clients/corporate partners
  • Experience in developing and managing budgets
  • Experience in CRM
  • Experience in working with and/or alongside Agriculture Trade, Agri-Business, Agri-Entertainment, festivals and entertainment promotion, and events is considered an asset
  • Experience in hospitality, sporting, events and entertainment industries are preferred.

  • Demonstrated proficiency for managing multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes;
  • Time-management skills and a proven track record of delivering quality results, with attention to details;
  • Computer proficiency required including advanced Excel, Word, Outlook, databases and general internet skills; and
  • Experience and knowledge of event management software, CRM platforms considered an asset.
