KinderCare Program LeadWe are excited to have two (2) KinderCare Program Lead opportunities available August 28, 2024 - June 25, 2025.Lethbridge School Division is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, caring and enthusiastic team leader to fill the role of KinderCare Program Lead. The KinderCare Program Lead will be responsible for programming, planning and engaging children in purposeful play-based activities designed to encourage exploration, foster creativity, problem solving skills and language expression. The KinderCare Program Lead will provide opportunities to foster independence, decision making and problem solving. What will you work18.00-33.00 hours/week Monday - FridayThis position follows the assigned 10-month KinderCare Program Lead calendar and will end on June 25, 2025.Locations Available:Nicholas Sheran Elementary School

  • 1 Position (33.00 hrs/wk)
Senator Buchanan Elementary School
  • 1 Position (18.00-33.00 hrs/wk)
KinderCare Program Lead positions are right for you if you:
    • Have a strong understanding of early childhood development and translate that into effective play-based programming
    • Have the ability to work with children with diverse backgrounds and abilities
    • Have the ability to work directly with children and support educational assistants in their work in KinderCare
    • Have the ability to infuse early literacy skills and numeracy skills into planning and programmed activities
    • Have proven positive experience working with young children
    • Effective communication skills with children, staff and families
    • Work collaboratively within a team setting along with the ability to work independently
    • Have a high level of empathy and interpersonal skills
    • Have a willingness to participate in professional learning activities; e.g.,quot;Learning Language and Loving It, quot; ABC and Beyond, quot; etc.
    • Have a positive, flexible attitude
    What will you doThe KinderCare Program Lead will be responsible to plan for programming for kindergarten aged children during KinderCare (non-instructional time) with a focus on developmentally appropriate play-based activities promoting skill development in literacy and numeracy. Please note that only those selected for further consideration will be contacted regarding an interview.RequirementsEducation Required:
      • Proof of Grade 12 or General Educational Development (GED). If you have obtained your education outside of Canada, the Division will require a copy of your Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) or International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) confirming high school or post secondary equivalencies.
      Assets:
        • Child Care Worker Certification (Level 1 or 2) is preferred
        • Combinations of education, training and experience working with young children may be considered
        • A valid First Aid Certificate may be considered an asset
        • Learning Language and Loving it and/or ABC and Beyond certificate may be considered an asset
        • SIVA and Pararbytes foundations may be considered an asset
        CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:In order to ensure and maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment, applicants new to Lethbridge SchoolDivision who are offered employment must provide:
        • A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions.
        • A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
        • Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver’s licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire.
        • Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire.
