Job Description

Sunrise Farmsis a group of companies with primary focus in the poultry industry.From our hatcheries to our “ready to eat” state of the art cooking facilities we service customers in the retail, food service and industrial sectors. Our test kitchens have the most current cooking equipment replicating that used in commercial establishments, to facilitate precision testing. We are proud of our long-standing partnerships with family-owned Canadian chicken farmers to produce high quality products.Sunrise is seeking an individual who is a strong team player who is able to work independently with minimal supervision, to provide primary nursing care for occupational and non-occupational illnesses and injuries.Responsibilities

  • Provide case management for the light/modified duty program in consultation with physician.
  • Maintain site specific minimum medical services procedures and protocols.
  • Participate in the occupational health and safety committee meetings.
  • Attends meetings pertinent to operation of on-site medical facility to discuss site health trends and make recommendations for changes to work habits and protective gear.
  • Follow-up on emergency hospital cases keeping Plant Manager, human resources and dayshift EMT apprised of the status of employees.
  • Work with Health and Safety Coordinator to keep adequate stock of necessary medical supplies, medications and equipment for proper on-site facility operation.
  • Accountable for accurate records regarding medical information and maintaining confidentiality of that information.
Requirements:
  • Must currently be a Registered with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA).
  • Must possess current CPR/AED Health Care Provider level.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Knowledge of current occupational health practices and applicable legislation is desirable.
  • Knowledge of basic health and safety programs and measures for the prevention of illness and injuries is an asset.
  • Audiometry and spirometry testing certifications are an asset
  • Knowledge of computer programs and tracking systems.
