Job Description

Candidates must:

  • Be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Work in a fast pace environment
  • Be comfortable with task re-assignment
  • Be able to organize and prioritize under time constraints
  • Be able to work well with others and also complete tasks individually
  • Be reliable
  • Be physically fit, able to lift 30 pounds and more
  • Have own transportation
  • Provide a positive customer experience with fair, friendly and courteous service
  • In the retail area assist customers as needed (finding products, checking out, loading vehicles and assisting with customer issues and questions)
  • Build a quick, lasting relationship with customers to ensure they enjoyed their visit
  • Operating a cash register and collecting payment methods of cash, debit and credit card
  • Follow directions given by all Supervisors/Lead Hands
But not limited to also:
  • Cleaning and transplanting plants
  • Prepare and pack the products for shipping
  • Move/space/sort product as required
  • Assist in all areas of production as needed
Working Conditions:
  • High physical effort is required (bending, twisting, lifting, walking)
  • Work is normally performed in the greenhouse and retail areas
  • Fieldwork when needed
  • Temperatures can be cool/hot and humid
  • Full weeks with long hours during harvest periods
  • Weekends and holidays are required when necessary to meet business/customer requirements
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly
  • Effective communication skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to adjust schedule, tasks and prioritize when necessary to meet business needs
