The Ross family takes pride in providing compassionate, quality patient care.Department/Unit/Program DescriptionKawartha Lakes Ontario Health Team (KL-OHT) is a fully designated Ontario Health Team for the City of Kawartha Lakes and surrounding communities. Our mission is to coordinate and connect care to create a seamless experience for patients and families. By putting the patient at the centre of our system, we aim to reduce confusion, support more efficient navigation between care settings, and help keep people healthier, for longer.As part of the KL-OHT, you will have a unique opportunity to work alongside a dynamic team of highly-committed patient/client partners, care providers and leaders from across the continuum of care, and will work to pioneer a new approach to health care and related services.This position is funded by and will report into leadership of the KL-OHT. As a member of the KL-OHT, Ross Memorial Hospital (RMH) is supporting the recruitment for this role. RMH is a community hospital serving over 75,000 permanent and seasonal residents, and is committed to providing safe, equitable, high-quality care in a fulfilling work environment that inspires staff, physicians and volunteers to learn, innovate and grow.Position SummaryKL-OHT is currently seeking a Temporary Part-Time Healthcare Technical CoachEffective Date: July 5, 2021Ending on or before: March 31, 2022This non-union position plays a lead role in the Virtual Care Program along with supporting new programs for the Kawartha Lakes Ontario Health Team (KL-OHT) ending March 31, 2022. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating the IT requirements for the Virtual Care Program (VCP). The Tech Coach will be responsible for travelling to patients’ homes and assisting with the set up and support of virtual tools for the patients/clients who will be participating in the VCP or other virtual programs. The role will also support the corresponding Healthcare Clinical Coach who facilitates virtual visits with patients/clients. This position will report to KL-OHT Leadership.Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitates and coordinates the project plan
  • Documents and keeps the project within scope and on time
  • Communicates with the Healthcare Clinical Coach, other members of the team and patients/clients
  • Manages devices including inventory and retrieval
  • Manages transition of internet subscriptions to patients/clients
  • Gathers metrics
  • Provides connections to other providers to enable future virtual services (Alzheimer’s, CNIB, OTN COPD/CHF, etc.)
  • Provides education and training to patients/clients on how to use technologies
  • Develops and maintains user manuals and guidance documents geared to the elderly
Essential Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years post-secondary education in Computer Science is required
  • Additional education and industry certifications are preferred
  • Project Management experience an asset
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems – Canada (CPHIMS-CA) an asset
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Microsoft Office capabilities – strong Excel skills required
  • Apple and iOS skills
  • Ability to work independently, in a team environment and in patient/client homes
  • Ability to deal effectively and co-operatively with all level of staff, patients and public is required
  • Excellent communication skills – oral, written and non-verbal
  • Sound judgment, tact, initiative and creativity in planning
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated analytical/critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis
  • Must have own vehicle
Experience:
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience with project management, coordination and control with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience in computer related field with emphasis on technology support is required
  • Experience in adult education, preference given to education to the elderly
  • Knowledge of virtual care tools
  • Healthcare experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of legislation and guidelines associated with health information and privacy
  • Document analysis and interpretation
