Among our acute and continuing care services, our team cares for 45,000 patients per year in the 24/7/365 emergency department, provides orthopedics and ophthalmology, operates a dialysis unit, and is renowned for its mental health programs and restorative seniors care. The Ross family takes pride in providing compassionate, quality patient care.Department/Unit/Program DescriptionThe Ross Memorial Hospital (RMH) Laboratory is provincially accredited by the Institute for Quality Management in Healthcare and provides the following onsite services: Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, Phlebotomy and Electrocardiograms. In addition to the onsite services, RMH has partnered with other Ontario Laboratories such as Public Health, Dynacare and Peterborough Regional Health Centre, to facilitate a larger scope of testing.The laboratory is committed to the provision of a quality laboratory service that ensures delivery of clinically relevant, accurate and timely diagnostic services. The welfare of the patient and respect for the dignity, privacy and independence of the individual is paramount at all times. The laboratory supports the hospital-wide vision to be leaders in the development and delivery of a dynamic and integrated health care system by establishing excellence, efficiency and quality in all areas of the quality management system.Position SummaryThe Laboratory department is currently looking for a Part-Time Medical Laboratory Technologist to join their healthcare team.Essential Qualifications

  • Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario
  • Certification with the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science
  • Demonstrated ability to deal co-operatively and effectively with all levels of staff, patients and the public
  • Demonstrated high level of communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis
Preferred Qualifications
  • Recent general core Laboratory (Haematology/Chemistry/Blood Bank) experience
Hours Of WorkMust be available to work a rotation of all three (3) shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays.
