Among our acute and continuing care services, our team cares for 45,000 patients per year in the 24/7/365 emergency department, provides orthopedics and ophthalmology, operates a dialysis unit, and is renowned for its mental health programs and restorative seniors care. The Ross family takes pride in providing compassionate, quality patient care.Position SummaryThe Recruitment Specialist will play a key role in attracting individuals to join our team. This position is accountable for supporting management throughout the recruitment process of unionized and non-unionized positions from the time the staff requisition is received until an individual has been successfully on-boarded.The hospital is hiring a full time Recruitment Specialist.Effective date June 6, 2022This is an onsite position at Ross Memorial Hospital.Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop a strategic recruitment plan for the hospital including difficult to fill positions. Monitor the plan and adjust strategies as required.
  • Develop relationships with management and communicate on a regular and consistent basis in relation to their recruitment.
  • Work with management to ensure the accurate and timely posting of new vacancies.
  • Manage Ross Memorial Hospital social media sites, in collaboration with the Communications Department, as related to the recruitment of new employees.
  • Review applications to ensure qualifications are met for positions and discuss with the hiring manager applications to move to the next step in the hiring process.
  • Follow all collective agreement language and hospital policies related to the posting of vacancies and subsequent awarding of positions.
  • Prepare interview tools and attend interviews for applicable positions. Participate in any grievances related to the recruitment and subsequent hiring of positions.
  • Plan, coordinate, facilitate monthly General Orientation sessions for new staff of all disciplines, students and volunteers as well as other training as applicable (i.e. Take Your Kid to Work Day, Job Shadowing, etc.).
  • Complete offer letters and job posting packages for payroll.
  • Prepare reports on recruitment statistics, efforts and the like as requested.
Essential Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources management or related discipline
  • CHRP designation
  • 3-5 years of high volume recruitment experience in a unionized environment, preferably in a hospital setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated sound judgement and decision making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative and problem solve
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative
  • Proficiency with various recruitment resources such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, Indeed and post-secondary and association websites
  • Excellent customer services and ability to build relationships
  • Proven ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines in a high volume role with multiple demands
  • Demonstrated experience with interview skills and assessment techniques
  • Demonstrated positive interpersonal and communication skills with various level with an organization
  • Knowledge of employment law including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, Ontario Labour Relations Act
  • Strong research and investigative skills
  • Experience in conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Must be able to fulfill physical requirement of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis
