This posting is for a permanent full-time 7.5 hours a day Network Analyst Position that has the potential to start as soon as January 29th, 2024. Our Network Analyst plays a key role in the set-up, maintenance, repair and management of networking hardware, software, systems, and services so that our students and staff are able to complete their work effectively and safely. Success as a Network Analyst involves achieving the following core objectives: 1) Ensuring that networking and communications technology are deployed, maintained, and repaired to meet the functional and security needs of the school division. 2) Ensuring network and internet connectivity of computing devices used by staff and students. 3) Providing technical training and internal customer support for staff using internet protocol office phones Typical Responsibilities of the Network Analyst include:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair networking hardware, software, systems, and services, such as:
    • internet protocol office phones and voicemail
    • local area networks (LANs) and wide area network (WAN)
    • wireless access points
  • Documenting, securing, and improving the LANs and WAN, including:
    • servers, routers, and switches
    • filters and firewalls
  • Updating software and firmware on non-end-devices within the network
  • Interfacing with our service provider about issues with the WAN
  • Monitoring the network for unusual behaviour and occurrences
  • Provide technical training in the use of internet protocol phones and voicemail, including the maintenance and distribution of training manuals, process guides, etc. for:
    • configuring and troubleshooting the set-up of phones
    • adjusting phones as changes are needed
    • updating user guides for phone and voicemail functionality, such as four-digit dialing, phone sheets, side cars, etc.
  • Provide internal customer support for staff use of internet protocol phones and voicemail, especially through the regular monitoring and closing of HelpDesk tickets.
