Job Description

Purpose of Position:Ensure that all Maintenance related systems and functions at Pierce Fisheries are operating efficiently and safely and are maintained in accordance with prescribed standards.Reporting Structure:This position reports to: Maintenance ManagerThis position has the following positions reporting to it: N/AKey Behavioral Competencies (Personal Characteristics):These are essential in order to perform the job successfully.(Examples: Communication, Collaboration, Analytical thinking, Problem Solving, Customer Service, Team Focus, etc.Practical mathematical skills and mechanical aptitude.The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions:Location: Plant environmentPhysical Demands:Schedule:ResponsibilitiesDuties & Accountabilities (Responsibilities):The following specific job responsibilities relate to this position:
  • Inspect job and determine the nature and extent of the required repairs, materials, tools, etc.
  • Exercise judgment in the selection of materials and tools, and in methods to ensure jobs are performed in accordance with accepted safety standards.
  • Inspect job sites, make field calculations and recommend repairs or replacement of tools or equipment.
  • Recommend system and parts modifications, repairs or replacements, changes in materials and improvements in methods.
  • Repairs, overhauls, installs, dismantles, modifies, replaces, adjusts, tests, cleans, lubricates and maintains all types of plan equipment and tools including hydraulics, forklifts (gas and electric), packaging and processing equipment.
  • Perform scheduled, emergency and preventative maintenance in the plant.
  • Inspect, repair and test equipment, certify that required tests and repairs have been performed and notify management of problems or issues.
  • General maintenance duties as required and assigned.
QualificationsQualifications:
  • 2-5 years' experience in a Facilities Maintenance role.
  • Vocational training in Welding and minimum 2 years' experience in Welding.
  • Fabrication experience preferable.
  • Adaptable to work on many types of equipment and systems.
