We seek excellent students, faculty, and staff to join us in what has become known as the "Western Experience" - an opportunity to contribute to a better world through the development of new knowledge, new abilities, new connections, and new ways to make a difference.About UsThe Office of the Registrar (OOR) fosters a culture of student service excellence and is a key contributor to the overall student experience at Western, from the initial point of contact with prospects through to graduation and beyond.Within the OOR, the Undergraduate Recruitment and Admissions Office ensures successful achievement of Western’s undergraduate enrolment goals and strategic plans for growth, internationalization, and diversity by advising and supporting prospective students throughout the application and admission cycle.ResponsibilitiesThe Admissions Officer (Professional and Transfer) supports Western in the recruitment and admission of applicants to the University’s undergraduate and professional degree programs. The role will facilitate recruitment of the best students to the University while ensuring that Western’s admission standards are met, by reviewing and assessing applications, critical documentation, and supplementary information to evaluate eligibility for admission. In response to specific inquiries about professional and transfer admission, the Admissions Officer (Professional and Transfer) disseminates accurate information to future students and applicants, college and university officials, faculty, staff, parents and the general public. The Admissions Officer (Professional and Transfer) will provide exemplary customer service, the adjudication of applicants and the implementation of Senate policies governing admission and transfer credit.QualificationsEducation:

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably from Western University
Experience:
  • 3 years’ progressive customer service and administrative experience in a post-secondary environment
  • Experience in student recruitment, admissions, or counseling services
  • Previous experience working with PeopleSoft or comparable Higher Education database, Salesforce CRM or comparable CRM and document imaging software is preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Exceptional organizational skills, including managing multiple competing priorities and the ability to adapt quickly to emerging priorities
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate complex written or oral ideas and understand customer needs and expectations while providing excellent customer service.
  • Proven ability and natural inclination to interact with people in a professional, respectful and diplomatic manner.
  • Judgment, analytical and problem-solving skills with a consultative and collaborative approach to address issues and opportunities within established guidelines.
  • Strong record of teamwork with the motivation and ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy.
  • Critical thinking and discernment to assess and scope areas for improvement and an ability to offer creative solutions.
  • A working knowledge of secondary and post-secondary education systems throughout Canada and internationally is an asset.
  • Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours and travel on occasion
