Job Description

As a Construction Site Inspector, you will make sure that all construction projects are performed as specified in the construction documents. You will monitor the contractors progress during the construction and must be comfortable reading and understanding drawings and specification documents while making sure that all work meets regulations and quality standards. Your goal is to deliver excellent results without compromising safety or quality. The applicant must be organized, thorough and have good people skills to communicate effectively with the contractor and the project coordinator; a strong attention to detail is also important in this role, as you’ll have to write reports on the status of projects. This job will require the applicant to work long hours, and travel to and from job sites causing them to be away from home for extended periods of time.Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all construction is executed according to the drawings and specifications.
  • Monitor the contractors progress, take detailed notes and write daily reports.
  • Complete minor survey works (Topographical and Bathymetric).
  • Monitoring project progress and quality control.
  • Collect soil samples.
  • Software operation and minor troubleshooting.
  • Travel to job sites and work remotely for long periods of time.

The applicant will be hired specifically to be a site supervisor of a dredging construction project located in Moosonee Ontario which has a requirement for 12 hour long days Monday to Friday, and the opportunity to also work weekends. Upon completion of this project there is potential for a full time employment contract based on performance.
