As someone with excellent communication skills and business acumen, you will thrive in our fast-paced and agile environment.Your opportunityDillon’s Environmental Sciences technical group is looking for Environmental Technicians/Scientists to join our multidisciplinary team. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.One position is available to be based at one of our London or Windsor offices. Other remote locations may be considered depending on the experience of the candidate.Responsibilities:What your day will look like:Field Work (70%)Complete environmental field activities on Phase I and II environmental site assessments (ESAs) and hydrogeological assessments, soil and groundwater sampling, surface water and sediment sampling, soil vapour sampling, and remediation projectsComply with applicable health and safety procedures and guidelinesProject Coordination (24%)Coordinate with laboratories, clients, subcontractors, third-party stakeholdersCompile and analyse data including: data tables, borehole logs, test pit logs, GIS/CAD, spreadsheet calculations, figuresAssist in report writing and prepare technical memos, letters, reports and proposalsLearning and Development (6%)A commitment to self-development and ongoing learning and professional developmentContribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committeesQualifications:What you will need to succeed:A degree or technical college certificate/diploma in geology, civil or environmental engineering, hydrogeology, or another relevant environmental science or engineering disciplineEligibility to practice as a Professional Engineer or Professional Geoscientist considered an asset (e.g. EIT, GIT)Entry level to 2 years’ of experience in environmental consultingValid G license for travelling to / from project sitesExperience:Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skillsStrong organizational skillsDemonstrated ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teamData compilation, interpretation and report writingKnowledge in several of the following disciplines: geology, hydrogeology, field procedures, basic chemistry, contracting/construction, chemistry, geotechnical concerns, geology, hydrogeology, remediation engineering, site characterization, waste management, landfill design, health and safety will be considered an assetExperience working around heavy equipment, including drill rigs and excavators will be considered an assetKnowledge of relevant provincial and federal environmental legislation and policies, including Ontario Regulations 153/04 and 406/19, will be considered an assetStrong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of productsWhy choose DillonDillon is powered by people who are technically proficient, passionate about socially important projects, and motivated to deliver superior, tangible results.
