General Labourer (Production Technician) – Mitchell, OntarioDepartment: OperationsLocation: Mitchell ON.Rate: $18.63/hour starting wageNumber of Positions: 10 positionsReports to: Lead Hand and/or Production SupervisorShift: 5:15 AM or 10 AM start timesPosition Summary:General Labourer performs a variety of manual or machine-assisted, repetitive tasks with duties involved in the processing of meat (i.e., turkey) products ready for shipment. The position requires initiative, willingness to learn all processes and to follow strict hygiene and health and safety regulations.Key Accountabilities:Handle raw meat.Cut/remove specific meat sections.Handle raw meat.Pack meat product into carton.Clean floor using squeegee/brush to pile up meat debris.Apply labels onto product cartons.Orient meat products on conveyor belts.Trim meat to Company specifications.Promote a safe work environment.Follow all Health & Safety and Food Safety requirements.Requirements:Ability to lift a min of 30 pounds, repetitive tasks, and ability to stand for extended hours.Must be able to work in a meat processing facility, in a cold environment.Must be able to communicate and understand English.High school education or equivalent.
