Manager of EducationJob PostingPosting Date: January 17, 2022Closing Date: January 31, 2022Location: London / Middlesex, Elgin, Oxford (can work from any of the current locations with occasional travel throughout the region required). Temporarily remote due to Covid-19.Status: Full-Time, 18-month Contract, 35 hours per week, occasional evening and weekend work required.Position Summary:The Manager of Education (the Manager) will manage all the education programs of the Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners. This includes providing the human resource support, the budget, and statistical information required. The Manager will establish community partnerships to advance the mission of the society and advocate for the society’s interests when appropriate.Organizational Overview: The Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners actively supports families and individuals affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. We advocate for and provide support services, education, and funding for research for those affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.Our Vision: A world without Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.Our Mission: To alleviate the personal and social consequences of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia’s and to promote research.Our Values: Collaboration, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.Qualifications: · 3+ years of relevant work experience· Post-secondary education· Education in the field of adult education (preferred)· A knowledgeable and experienced educator working with the community and with people living with dementia and care partners· Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and evaluate programs· Ability to lead, support and evaluate a multidisciplinary staff team· A demonstrated ability to establish and maintain system partnerships· Knowledge of current legislation and best practices related to dementia· Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle· Knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementiasImmediate Supervisor: Director of Programs and ServicesSpecific Job Responsibilities: · Provide leadership to First Link learning series, Enhancing Care program, public education, CSS dementia education, dementia friendly communities and other education programs as required· Responsible for the performance and development of the team· Provide ongoing support and communication to the team· Monitor ongoing metrics and take action where metrics fall outside agreed to baselines· Establish and maintain system partnerships· Support advocacy for our clients and our cause· Support the development of dementia friendly communities· Evaluate opportunities to establish new programs and expand existing programs where need has been identifiedWorking Conditions: Office Setting. General office duties, typing, filing, occasional lifting / carrying 25lbs, reaching, bending, walking, sitting, and standing (standing desk provided). Freedom of movement throughout the day. Some travel required.This will be an in-office position (with the ability to work from home occasionally depending on government protocols) and will require consistent wearing of proper PPE and completing education in proper Public Health guidelines surrounding PPE and Covid-19 protocols.
