Job Description

Dolce is now seeking a Outlet Bartender to join our team at Dolce Ivey Spencer Canada in London, Ontario.Job SummaryThe Outlet Bartender is responsible for providing the highest quality service to guests and servers and maintaining the Wyndham Standards of cleanliness and sanitation while following the direction from all management.Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalentSmart Serve Certification is mandatory; willingness to obtain or a refresher may be requested.At least two (2) years previous bartending experience is prefered.Bilingual skills (French/English) are a strong asset, bbut not a requirmentPhysical RequirementsFlexible and long hours sometimes required.Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.Ability to stand during entire shiftGeneral RequirementsMust be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlinesApproach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing nametags.Comply with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutionsMust be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessaryMust be able to maintain confidentiality of information.Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needsPerform other duties as requested by management.Fundamental RequirementsMaintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.Set up the bar according to hotel standards and Banquet Event Order to ensure that guests are served promptly and efficientlyPrepare beverages and cocktails according to the hotel’s mixing and presentation standardsServe guests with all beverage requirements in a friendly, courteous and professional manner and by nameBreak down bar after the completion of functions, storing liquor, supplies and equipment according to the hotel’s standardsFollow all provincial liquor laws, incuding ensuring all custopmer have proper I.D. and are over 19 years of ageFulfill the role of outlet server to support food and beverage operations, as needed.Must be able to work variable shifts: days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events, as needed.Maintain current knowledge of hotel culture, amenities, and services, events in the area, points of interest, and services in the area.Abide by all hotel policies and safety rulesAssist in the Health & Safety program by ensuring that section 28 of the OHSA and company/departmental health & safety policies and procedures are being followedFollow prescribed procedures in serving liquor with care to avoid problems with intoxicated guestsRespond to guests problems, complaints and accidentsAdhere to all company safety and sanitation policies and proceduresEnsure that the bar and service areas are kept clean and tidy during service, practicing "clean as you go" techniquesEnter all sales in the point-of-sale system (POS) without errors.Always follow proper cash handling procedures, bar controls and inventory controls.Assume responsibility for guest checks, cash register procedures, and completion of daily sales reconciliation reports.Ensure overall guest satisfactionMust be eligible to work in CanadaWyndham Hotels and Resorts is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer supporting diversity in all of our business practices.We are proud to provide employment accommodation during the recruitment process.
