Job Description

Posting PeriodOpen: June 7, 2022Deadline: June 19, 2022Non-UnionDepartment NameRegional Base HospitalReporting to the Coordinator of Quality and Business Systems for Southwest Ontario Regional Base Hospital Program, the Quality Specialist role will work collaboratively with leadership and staff to develop and implement quality assurance standards and measures ensuring regulatory requirements are met for the program’s mandate with the Ministry of Health for oversight and medical delegation of paramedics in the region, improving care and service to patients, staff and other clients. The individual will gather and analyze data in support of proposed projects, systems requirements, quality improvement initiatives and educational opportunities. The role is also responsible to produce reports required by the program for performance measurement and quality improvement.Rate of Pay: $40.27 per hour - $50.34 per hourHours of Work: 37.5 hours per weekQualifications

  • Minimum two (2) years recent, related job experience in Quality Management
  • Successful completion of an undergraduate degree in Health and Business Administration, Health Informatics, Statistics, Computer Science, or health-related disciple as acceptable by the hospital
  • Master’s degree in related field, preferred
  • Lean/Six Sigma Certification preferred
  • Demonstrated background as a Paramedic, Nurse or other Allied Health Professional preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in EMS/ Transport Medicine preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in a Just Culture environment preferred
  • Certification in Quality Management by an accredited institution preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of project management, quality assurance and information systems design
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with data collection and analysis
  • Consensus building, conflict resolution, consultation and coaching/mentoring style of leadership
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite and corporate productivity tools
  • Proficient facilitation and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Mission, Vision and Values
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Immunization Requirements:
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step)
  • Provide documentation of a completed COVID vaccine series (two vaccines)
