Our applications are open-source and web-hosted.As we continue to grow our team, we are seeking a full-time Systems Administrator to join our software team. This is a remote based role.Roles DescriptionPSD Citywide is looking for a passionate Systems Administrator to support all aspects of our IT infrastructure. You will be joining the team of talented Information Technology Professionals on a mission to support and enable every team at PSD Citywide while ensuring best practices, automation, and modern-day technology products.The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the administration of the corporate networking infrastructure, providing employees with extensive and complete assistance in any issues they may have with respect to information system technology.Qualifications

  • Experience managing Linus servers, especially Ubuntu.
  • 3-5 years in a Help desk / IT Support, hardware, and software role with focus on Network Fundamentals
  • Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, System Administration, IT
  • Microsoft Certified Professional, Cisco Certified or A+ certified preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Licensing and CALs.
  • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Cloud Hosting (AWS/GCP/etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Antivirus, Firewall, IDS/IPS.
  • Scripting languages such as Batch, Powershell, Shellscript, Python, and PHP.
  • Experience Office 365, Google Gsuite, hardware/software purchasing experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, able to quickly pin-point issues and make recommendations for resolution.
  • A desire to improve the stability, fault tolerance, and performance of the server infrastructure.
  • Attention to detail with excellent multi-tasking capabilities.
Responsibilities & Duties
  • Internal systems administrator responsible for the maintenance of the Ubuntu Linux server infrastructure.
  • Ensures security and configuration compliance of hardware and software to comply with best practices.
  • Performing day to day operational activities, including server building and administration, system patching and upgrade, backup and recovery, and data center management.
    • Experience with offline backup regime.
  • Proactively monitor system logs and performance, responding to issues, troubleshooting and identifying root causes, and implementing technical solutions.
  • Apply patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
  • Implementation of production changes in out-of-hours maintenance windows
  • Respond to monitoring alerts to quickly identify trouble source and implement resolution
    • On-call for critical incident support on a rotational basis.
  • Role requires physical activity, moving and building of datacenter equipment, outside communications and connectivity equipment. Develop configurations, test plans and installation instructions.
  • Will be the first point of contact for all IT support issues for internal employees.
    • Work with Human Resources to onboard and offboard employees.
    • Assist in the management of the firewall, antivirus, antispyware logs and reports.
    • Follow and update document standards for all hardware purchases and operating systems.
  • Contribute to updating documentation and standard operating procedures to ensure constant and reliable services are delivered.
  • Assist in the management of the enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Leads as well as participates in high level analysis to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and outages and formulates quality resolutions and root cause analysis.
  • Maintains an awareness of developing technologies, standards, best practices, provide guidance and strategies to ensure technology solutions are current, supported and future ready.
  • Proactively monitors and tunes corporate data center technologies for optimal performance. Provides high level analysis to troubleshoot infrastructure and integration issues and formulate solutions for corrective measures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
