As one of Canada’s top ten research institutes, we are committed to furthering scientific knowledge to advance health care around the world.The London Movement Disorder Centre (LMDC) is a clinical and research unit that conducts innovative research work from lab based to therapeutics, in the field of neuroscience. The successful candidate will assist the Post-Doctoral fellow to study the effects of BoNT-At in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. Duties will include; sample preparation and testing, conducting histological analysis of tissue, administrative work including purchasing of lab materials and maintenance of laboratory supply inventory.Rate of Pay: To commensurate with experienceHours of Work: 37.5 hours per weekDuration: One year contract, may be renewableQualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science/Health Sciences or related field of study
  • Minimum one year of recent related experience, preferably in a research environment
  • Experience with conducting histological analysis
  • Experience with rodent handling
  • Experience working in a wet lab setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Immunization Requirements:
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
