Job Description

Full Time Warehouse Supervisor - Mission Thrift Store London NorthMission Thrift Store is a busy not for profit thrift store located in North London. We are a diverse,friendly, and fun community that thrives because of the work of over 140 volunteers and a few paidstaff.We are currently seeking a full-time warehouse supervisor that will fit into our staff dynamic and bringto the table a variety of skills that will make us even better. No day is ever the same here, so you willthrive in an ever-changing environment, work well with volunteers of all ages and abilities, and be ableto pivot your priorities on a moment’s notice.You will report to the Store Manager directly and will have tasks delegated mostly to the operations andincoming donations at the back of the store. You will regularly interact with customers and you will needto understand the full operations of the store-front and back. This variety of tasks means that you are awell-rounded team player, who can run a computer/POS system, lift furniture, build relationships withvolunteers and customers, and bring ideas to the table that continue to make us the first-choice thriftstore in London.You can manage your time well with little supervision, you have the flexibility in your schedule shouldother staff need to rely on you in special circumstances, and you are passionate about the work we do inboth our own community and in partnership with Bible League Canada.This position requires and allows for flexibility in scheduling. We are closed on Sundays, but you will bescheduled on Saturdays, and likely some evenings up to 7PM.What we expect from the successful candidate:

  • Strong interpersonal skills. We greatly value our volunteers as a priority; we wouldn’t exist
without them. You possess grace, good humour, and problem solving skills with the ability tocommunicate with passionate volunteers. You invest in their lives and know them and theirstories.
  • You are able to solve problems with good judgment and make decisions independently.
  • You work well with other staff and take direction easily. You contribute to regular staff
meetings, share your ideas, and are trusted by managers to open and close the store, countcash, and do other tasks that require a high level of trust and discretion (criminal record checkrequired).
  • You have a clean driving record.
  • You demonstrate strong communication skills.
  • You understand, agree with, and adhere to the lifestyle and morality policies of the Bible for
Missions Foundation. You understand why we do what we do and are passionate about makinga difference. You demonstrate a vibrant and lively Christian faith life and have the ability to leaddevotions regularly.
  • Volunteer experience is a strong asset.
  • Thrift store experience is an asset.
  • First aid level one is required.
  • You understand and adhere to health and safety standards, logistics planning, and warehousing
donations.
  • You can lift heavy furniture, move and bend easily, be on your feet for long periods of time, and
can complete a yearly medical certificate.What you can expect from us:
