We’re looking for smart people like you who can make a real difference.ICONIX is currently looking for a Water Meter Installer (Contract) in Strathroy, ON.Reporting out of our London branch, the duties and Responsibilities include:Installing water meters.Testing, troubleshooting, and repairing meters and associated equipment.Maintaining, developing, and updating operating and safety procedures.Providing excellent customer service to clients.Working outside every day and under various weather conditions.Carrying out physically demanding outdoor work in a safe manner.Recording and reporting numerical combinations accurately and consistently.Communicating and interacting with the public professionally.Using judgment under pressure and choosing the appropriate course of action.Working unsupervised and alone in a reliable fashion.Participating in health and safety related duties.Working with a family of real world problem solvers.Remuneration: Pay based on performance (piece-work), no maximum. Average pay is $30/hr - $40/hr with a daily minimum of $160/day.This position requires the ability to perform physical duties such as lifting up to 55 pounds unassisted, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, climbing (heights), standing the majority of the day, and walking.Qualifications :The ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications:High School Diploma.Plumbing experience is an asset.800A Water Meter Certification or Licensed Plumber is an assetCollege certification or Diploma in Water Technology program is an asset.Understanding of basic wiring and minor construction.Ability to use handheld devices to receive work orders and enter installation notes.Ability to understand and perform complex and varied skilled tasks.Ability to independently judge and take action in day to day activities.Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions with minimum of supervision.Ability to establish and improve effective working relationships with staff, contractors and the public providing information, assistance, advice and direction as required.Good troubleshooting skills.Field work experience an asset.A strong commitment to health and safety.Remuneration: Pay based on performance (piece-work), no maximum.
