Job Description

Wild West Steelhead is a fully integrated aquaculture company operating a re-circulation hatchery, 2 cage culture sites and processing plant on Lake Diefenbaker in Saskatchewan. The company is one of the largest trout producer in Canada with plans for expansion. We are currently recruiting for a qualified Maintenance Technician.This position is responsible to the outside Supervisor for the provision of all maintenance services related to the equipment of the fish farm.Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:· Safe and knowledgeable operations of all heavy equipment: crane, tractor, winch, welder, pumps, compressor, feed systems, boats and barges.· Conducting all equipment maintenance, including oil changes, mechanical repair, etc.· Maintaining all appropriate records and updates as required.· Monitor, operate and maintain feed system.· Other duties as required.Key skills and Competencies Required:· High level of knowledge of trucks, tractors, boats and boat motors of all types being used at the fish farm.· Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships· Physically fitCandidates with a diploma in Motor Vehicle Repair will be considered an asset or a minimum three years working experience. Must be able to drive up to 3 ton trucks, caterpillar, telehandler and a wide variety of boats and barges. Housing can be made available if required.
