We are looking for a compassionate part-time Animal Care Attendant (ACA) with exceptional multi-tasking abilities, to join our team. Successful candidates will have a desire to help pet-parents enhance and extend their pet’s life.You must be a reliable, energetic and outgoing team player who takes pride in a job well done. You must be an effective communicator, possess a genuine interest in promoting the health and well-being of our patients and show a strong understanding of compassionate medical care.This person will be part-time approximately 12 hours per week.ResponsibilitiesCleaning and Hospital Maintenance – a binder with detailed daily, weekly, and monthly charts is to be initialed as the tasks are completed.Some of these include:Ensure all areas of the hospital are clean and disinfected (according to the suggested sanitation schedule) including washrooms, hallways, examination rooms, office area kennels. This includes all surfaces, walls and floorsEnsure all doors and glassed areas are kept clean (free of fingerprints and nose prints!)Ensure all access areas of the hospital are kept free of clutterEnsure garbage is collected and separated accordingly, ensuring that garbage is placed in a designated location for pickup. This includes both regular waste and recyclablesHospital laundry should be kept on a routine schedule to ensure that clean laundry is available at all timeEnsure that air return, exhaust, and dryer vents are cleaned regularlyEnsure floors are kept clean and disinfectedAnimal Care and Handling:Ensure that all animals are kept clean, dry and comfortableEnsure all animals are fed, watered, and exercised with proper leashingObserve animal appearance, activity and general physical condition reporting any changes or concerns to the Veterinary Technician or attending VeterinarianAssist in restraining animals, where required.Assist where needed: mostly assist staff with restraint of patients, deliver food/medication to vehicles with PPE (mask, face shield and COVID coat)If this sounds interesting to you please apply with our Resume and Cover Letter.Location: Lynden Animal Clinic 847 Lynden Road, Lynden, ON L0R 1T08yDwulvqKV
