  • Preparing and operating light and heavy maintenance equipment such as patrol trucks, loaders, plows, spreaders, tractors, etc.
  • Performing required preventative and routine equipment maintenance, which includes but is not limited to, cleaning/washing the interior and exterior of equipment, changing plow blades, minor equipment repairs, greasing equipment and refueling equipment after use.
  • Emergency response to accidents and spills
  • Traffic control set up and take down
  • Debris and litter pickup
  • Safe operation of maintenance equipment Including small equipment and hand tools
  • All aspects of bridge and road maintenance.
  • All other tasks as required
Requirements · Class 3 with air endorsement license, along with clean driving abstract
  • Acquire class 1 license 1 year from date of fulltime hire
  • Experience in highway maintenance and/or road building/utility construction
  • Working knowledge of the Traffic control manual or TCP cert. preferred
  • Helpful, friendly, courteous with the public, regulatory agencies and peers.
  • Punctual and ready to work.
  • Flexible with work hours. Must have the ability to work shifts when required
  • Familiar with highway maintenance and Quality Control Program
  • Physically able to meet all requirements and perform satisfactorily all highway maintenance and emergency assignments in a manner that promotes cost effective operations, staff co-operation and working in a safe and environmentally friendly manner at all times.
