We are dedicated to creating a more sustainable future for Canada and future generations.The RoleCanREA is searching for a highly motivated, and enthusiastic Membershipamp; Business Development Coordinator to join the team on a full-time, contract basis, with the potential for the role to become permanent. Reporting to the Director of Membershipamp; Business Development, the Membershipamp; Business Coordinator will be responsible for leading all work related to the membership database system, providing effective and efficient execution of membership administration related matters, and assisting with CanREA events. Additionally, this role provides an excellent opportunity to interface across various CanREA functions, including events, communications, and policy related activities. This is a one-year contract role and exists by way of funding from EHRC #39;s Discovering Potential Program. As such, the incumbent must meet the selection criteria set out by the Program and will be required to participate in and complete Program-related activities:

  • Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive)
  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada
  • Legally entitled to work according to relevant provincial legislation and regulations
  • Not receiving Employment Insurance (EI) benefits
  • Not currently enrolled in full-time post-secondary studies
  • Currently un- or under-employed

  • Leading all work related to the membership database system, including data entry, new features, integrations, creating manuals, trainingamp; other technical solutions.
  • Responsible for ensuring the membership database is operating effectively and efficiently to meet the current and evolving needs of the Association. This may include working with our database provider to oversee any necessary updates or changes.
  • Responsible for inputting all member and other industry contact and market information into the database system, and ensuring all information is up to date.
  • Support the use of the membership database system for online payments.
  • Support the development of internal policies regarding staff usage of the database.
  • Train and assist the Association staff on the use of the database as required.
Membership Renewal, Retention, and Recruitment Activities:
  • Support the annual membership renewal and recruitment programs development and implementation.
  • Act as the primary member contact (either by email or by phone) for all administrative, technical, and logistical member support, including new member onboarding.
  • Lead the monitoring and review of the member-related webpages, both on the public and members-only websites, and collaborate with the Communications Team as required.
  • Assist in the creation of membership and sponsorship promotional materials as required.
  • Assist with identifying and collecting information on member prospects.
  • Assist in the collection of outstanding membership dues as required.
  • Assist in developing industry membership-related research and related information gathering communications (e.g., questionnaires, surveys, etc.).
Event Coordination:
  • Act as the primary contact for all sponsors and exhibitors as it relates to technical and logistical support in fulfilling event agreement obligations (e.g., forms, collecting logos, sharing information, etc.).
  • Support and assist the Events team in managing and coordinating tasks related to CanREA booths at events (e.g., Electricity Transformation Canada), as required.
  • Support and assist the Events team in developing, organizing, coordinating, and hosting various events and conferences, as required.
General:
  • Maintain a good knowledge of the Canadian renewable energy and energy storage industries and apply this knowledge to build relationships with industry participants and develop new business and value-add opportunities for the Association.
  • Providing information or performing other duties as required by management.
Please note other duties may be assigned as needed to meet the evolving needs of the Association and its mandate.Qualifications
  • Post Secondary education in a relevant area of study or an acceptable combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 3 years minimum experience in working within membership, administration, and information management functions.
  • Experience working with, or for, Non-profit or membership-based associations are an asset.
  • General knowledge of the renewable and the energy storage industry is an asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of client interaction, customer service, and member-based programs.
  • Experience in event coordination and logistics.
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English (written and spoken) is required. Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of software systems including Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.), membership databaseamp; billing systems (e.g., GrowthZone) and other related software programs (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Survey Monkey, GoToWebinar, Zoom, Jotform, Simply Voting, Google Forms, Etc.).
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote capacity.
  • Ability to travel approximately 5% of the time, mainly across Canada.
