You will work in compliance with the Workplace Safety Insurance Act, as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations to support and provide integrated disability management to cases of occupational and non-occupational illnesses or injuries including coordination of modified return to work plans and accommodations. In addition, you will support organizational strategic priorities, direction and initiatives.Responsibilities will include:Evaluating and monitoring all short-term, long-term and WSIB claims, including submitting all appropriate forms and documentations as requiredMaintain contact with Manager, employee, Union, Human Resources, and/or WSIB/long-term disability carrier throughout the processDetermine suitability for employee’s return to work and assist in identifying suitable placement.Design return to work program in consultation with employee, Manager , Union and treating healthcare practitioner and monitor and document the progress of the return to work planRequest 1) Functional Abilities Evaluation (FAE); 2) Ergonomic Assessment; 3) WSIB Regional Evaluation Assessment, or 4) Independent Medical Evaluation (IME), as requiredCoordinate and communicate with all involved parties such as rehabilitation specialist, WSIB/long-term disability carrier, healthcare practitioners, health and safety specialist, ergonomists, family physicians and medical specialistsMaintain a return to work database and evaluate the program including identifying trends and recommending appropriate action, education and program implementation and maintain statistics related to the return to work programDevelop appropriate policiesProvide education and support to managers, employees and unionsResponsible for working with the Occupational Health, Safety & Wellness team to initiate, organize and coordinate employee wellness activities and programs at the HospitalDocument and maintain employee chart/claim file recordsParticipate in appeals, grievances, arbitrations and other legal proceedings as required including Human Rights and WSIB tribunal hearingsWhat you bring to the role:Baccalaureate degree in nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy or other health related science is required.A minimum of three years’ related experience including WSIB claims management, WSIB rate framework, and early and safe return to work programsThorough knowledge and understanding of WSIA legislation, Human Rights Code of Ontario, Occupational Health and Safety Act and relevant case lawSound knowledge of disability management principles and best practicesAbility to analyze trends and coordinate with partners to identify cost savings or cost relief opportunitiesExcellence in communications, both written and verbalDemonstrated skill in conflict resolution, negotiation and relationship building with partners and clientsDemonstrated WSIB appeals experienceProven abilities in complex analysis, critical thinking, problem-solving and consultationMotivated and self-directed individual with the ability to function effectively both autonomously and as a team member.Computer proficiency with Parklane, Zoom, and MS Word, Excel and PowerPointDemonstrate commitment to professional developmentDemonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standardsDemonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, visitors, volunteers) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with organization related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as requiredCompensation:BAND L: $27.85 - $46.16 per hourWho we are:Oak Valley Health is one of Ontario’s leading community healthcare organizations.
